Nature/Nurture ask us to consider how nature is internalized and externalized through allegory, anthropomorphism, and visual meditations. They examine how our interpretations of the natural world influence our engagement with nature and urge us to rethink our relationship with the environment. From ecological interdependence to the human impact on our planet, the exhibition prompts critical reflections on the relationship between humans and the natural world. Nature/Nurture explores nature's many roles in our lives—as a provider of sustenance and beauty, a source of inquiry and inspiration, and a site of challenge and conflict. Is the dichotomy between nature and nurture a false one? Are we not, after all, part of the same ecosystem—animals shaped as much by the world around us as by inherited traits and inner selves?
