Director Katerina Lanfranco founded Rhombus Space in 2013 as a contemporary art gallery, located in an industrial building Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York. Rhombus Space invited artists to exhibit new and experimental artworks within conceptually and formally driven group shows. In 2021, Rhombus Space re-opened with a series of online exhibitions - continuing its aim to provide curatorial programing and dynamic exhibitions that promote artistic dialogues and connections.
Rhombus Space mounted 12 group exhibitions from 2013 to 2015, including one in Toronto, Canada, and one in Berlin, Germany.
From 2015 to 2017 Rhombus Space hosted two artist residencies. The first artist-in-residence was Carrie Rubinstein, and the second artist-in-residence was Katherine Keltner
